McLaren Automotive Asia: Reorganised Asia-Pac structure

McLaren Automotive today announced the appointment of Ian Gorsuch as Regional Director for Asia Pacific, a newly created role following the creation of McLaren Automotive Asia. McLaren Automotive Asia is a private limited company registered in Singapore to oversee McLaren Automotive’s Asia Pacific operations.

Effective immediately, Mr. Gorsuch will relocate to Singapore where he will lead the operations, management and strategy for McLaren Automotive in the Asia Pacific region. He will be responsible for the manufacturer’s expansion in the region and its relationships with its appointed dealers in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney and Singapore. Mr. Gorsuch previously held these same responsibilities for the Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

This tightening of focus underscores the increasing importance of Asian markets to McLaren Automotive. Buoyed by a strong economy, the region has demonstrated a healthy appetite for the McLaren MP4-12C, accounting for around 20 per cent of the global allocation.

This is unsurprising as the McLaren MP4-12C has racked up an impressive body of awards this year, including snagging 2nd place in evo Magazine’s Car of the Year and winning Top Gear’s GT Car of the Year, leading presenter Jeremy Clarkson to conclude “in every scientific and mathematical way, the MP4-12C is better than a Ferrari 458”.

Commenting on the progress of McLaren Automotive Asia, Mr. Gorsuch said, “The first phase of McLaren Automotive’s entry into the region is nearing completion as our appointed dealers in the region open their showrooms over the next quarter and are successfully building a strong forward order bank. We are now focused on building our Asia team and establishing the next phase of our growth which will include the China market.”

Besides the newly established Asia headquarters in Singapore, McLaren Automotive Asia also maintains office in Japan. For more information about McLaren Automotive, please visit
